Saturday, March 24 (the fourth Saturday) at the Mt. View Lions Clubhouse
starting at 10:00 am to Noon. Meet local crocheters, get help with a
pattern or project, learn a new stitch or just talk crochet. Check out
our extensive library.

The April meeting is our Day of Crochet from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with a

Thank you Jeanette for offering to help a young woman on bed rest for 14
weeks to crochet. She is awaiting the birth of her first child and

Good Sunday Morning--
Below is a post on the Ididachain Facebook page (thank you to Debbie Meester for getting us on Facebook) from Mickey Hage by way of Robin Newby. At the last meeting there was some interest in following along. I have download the first 3 crochet clues as well as the knit ones. I have attached the crochet patterns and if you would like the knitted ones, let me know. Or go to the link below and download them on your own if you cannot open the ones attached.

Bernat yarn is putting on a Knit Along Mystery Afghan & Crochet Along. On their website they give you yarnage for both ways & starting Feb 15 they post the next clue's directions (square or something) how many & the color order (main color, A, B etc). Each Wed. They post another clue. I'm going to do the crochet, but collect the knit clues :) join us, there's a blog from folks all over the world working on this together!" on your timeline.

This was a post from Robyn Newby to me (Mickey Hage) the beginning of February. Thought you all might like to check it out!

Good Evening--
The October Ididachain Crochet Guild of Alaska meeting will be held on Saturday, October 22 (fourth Saturday), at 10:00 am to Noon. The meeting location has changed as the church where we normally hold our meeting is not available. The meeting will be held at my house, 900 North Arnold Palmer Street, Wasilla. It is very easy to find. Directions are at the end of this notice. We will start out with reports from Pauline and Delma on the conferences they attended in September. I have some tips I would like to share on starting a new color in a motif such as Granny Square.

We do not meet in November and our next meeting is our holiday meeting and will be on Saturday, December 3, in Anchorage at the Mt. View Lions Clubhouse, 10:00 am to Noon, with a potluck. Bring a dish to share and a gift if you would like to participate in the gift exchange.

At at the September meeting, Shawnalee Whitney shared information on
a new online magazine that's devoted to folks who are "bicraftual," that is to say they both knit and crochet. The designs are often shown in both a knit version and one that is crocheted. The e-zine is called Tangled and they can be found online at
http://tangledness.com/. One of the designs that she mentioned at the guild meeting is a cute cardigan that is called Peanut Butter in the crochet version and Jelly in the knit version. I will check it out and print out the instructions in case anyone is interested. We can than make copies at the meeting with our copier/printer.

There is a new knitting guild forming in the Mat-Su Valley. They'll be having a meeting on October 22 at 1:00 p.m. at the Meridian Point Building on Seward Meridian in Wasilla. They have had one previous meeting just to gauge interest, etc., and about 20 people attended. The goals of the group include: offering a 15 minute educational program/presentation at each meeting, charity work, social networking, book reports on various printed materials, yarn bombing, a website to announce events, seminars by internationally known designers, a resources library available to all members, and a Master Knitting Program mentoring group. The group will be sanctioned by The Knitting Guild Association. Annual dues will be $24.00. Since many of Ididachain members both knit and crochet, this might be of interest!

Hope to see you on Saturday, October 22.
